Generative AI Policy

Restrictions on Legal Work:

  • Individual Client Cases: Generative AI tools must NOT be used in any capacity when working on individual client cases or conducting any legal work.
  • Legal Documents and Advice: The drafting of legal documents, providing legal advice, or performing any other legal tasks MUST NOT be delegated to Generative AI.

Client Confidentiality:

  • Strict Prohibition: Under NO circumstances should any client information, case details, or any other confidential information be entered into ANY AI tool. Protecting client confidentiality and upholding attorney-client privilege are of utmost importance.
  • Consequences of Breach: Any breach of client confidentiality or attorney-client privilege through the use of Generative AI will result in severe consequences, including disciplinary action and potential termination of employment.

Disciplinary Matters

Act LXXVIII of 2017 on the Activities of Lawyers ensures accountability for all lawyers practicing in Hungary with respect to disciplinary offenses. A disciplinary offense occurs when a lawyer, while practicing law, intentionally or negligently breaches their professional duties as defined by law, the Statutes of the Hungarian Bar Association, the Statutes of the regional bar association, or the Code of Ethics. This also includes conduct outside of legal practice that seriously jeopardizes the reputation of the legal profession.

Disciplinary offenses are investigated after a report is submitted to the regional bar association where the lawyer is registered. Reports can be handwritten and signed by two witnesses, or submitted electronically via the client portal, accessible at the following address. Complaints and Abuse

Regarding complaints under Act XXV of 2023 on Complaints, Notifications of Public Interest and Rules for Reporting Abuse (Complaints Act), Illés and Szabó Lawyers’ Association adheres to the Hungarian Bar Association's abuse reporting system. The MLCA operates the internal whistleblowing system for any lawyer, European Community lawyer, law firm, or European Community law firm that fails to appoint an impartial person or department, or a whistleblowing lawyer or external organization, to manage this system. Comments on Service Quality

If any client is dissatisfied with services provided by Illés and Szabó Lawyers’ Association due to a breach of the Association's Code of Ethics, please email your concerns to the following address:

Regional bar associations handle disciplinary offenses, and the Hungarian Bar Association addresses complaints and cases of abuse.

If you have a complaint about the quality of service provided by our firm, such as the prolonged unavailability of the assigned lawyer, unanswered questions, or inappropriate communication, your complaint will be addressed as follows:

The Lawyers' Association's management, or an appointed impartial member, will investigate the complaint after hearing from the relevant lawyer or staff member. All circumstances will be considered in a client-focused manner.

You will receive a written response within 30 calendar days. Financial settlement complaints will be investigated within 5 working days. The specific steps in the complaint process will depend on the nature and severity of the issue.

If the complaint exceeds the Bar Association's jurisdiction, we will forward it to the appropriate regional bar association or the Hungarian Bar Association.

Please note that in disciplinary matters and cases under the Complaints Act, whistleblowers have specific rights that aggrieved clients do not possess if the Bar Association initiates the report.

Our primary goal is to achieve a satisfactory resolution for all parties. If you find our response to your complaint unsatisfactory, inadequate, or uncomfortable, please inform our complaints handling representative.

The complaints handling system allows us to utilize both positive and negative feedback to continually enhance our service quality.
